Preliminary results

Some examples of ideas from students who participated in the focus groups.

The features more commonly used by students, and identified as possible to be used in classrooms by teachers, are:
SMS
Calculator
Photographic camera
Video recorder
Bluetooth for sharing files
Calendar

Lots of mixed ideas came up related to each one of this features. Very soon I will present a summary of those ideas.

Enthusiasm

This past week I contacted the students that will take part of my research.

They need to have a written authorization from their parents or those responsible for their education so that they may participate in the focus groups and experimental activities.

When I explained the purpose of the research they all were really enthusiastic about it. It was quite motivating :)

In this school, as most of Portuguese schools, mobile phones are not allowed in the classroom. So I imagine that, besides the well known enthusiasm about mobile phones, in this context this topic as some feeling of rebellion for the young people.
